When Dayla first surrendered and went to her foster home, she was in her shell with her tail in between her tail. In a matter of a couple of days, she came out of her shell, her eyes more alert and brighter with lots of tail wagging!

Dayla does great with kids and other animals. She currently lives with her foster mom and dad, 2 kids under 5 years old, 2 dogs, and 1 cat.

Dayla is a smaller girl and currently only weighs 90 pounds. When she arrived to her foster home, she was skinny, but her foster family is working on getting her to gain a little bit of weight.

She so love her human foster children and no wonder —- she came from a family with children as young as an infant. She adores children and loves to receive their kisses. Dayla does have a tendency to listen to children more compared to adults.

She is crated trained and stays in her crate while her foster mom is at work. Even though she is potty trained, Dayla stays in her crate to sleep because she has had some accidents when left out of the crate at night. Thankfully, her accidents are becoming rarer overnight.

She doesn’t have much interest in the cat but likes to try and get the other dogs to play.

She loves kids and always wants to be a part of what they are doing.

She is a quiet girl and her foster mom has only heard her bark twice. Since her foster brother (Great Dane) is a barker, she doesn’t feel the need to chime in.
Dayla is also shy and it takes her a little longer to warm up to different people and situations. As long as you can be patient with her she is a sweet and loving little girl.

Dalya knows “sit” and “lay down”. She does good on a leash and getting better every time but she will need some additional training.

She doesn’t seem to be familiar with basic commands and we are working with her on them. For now, she has mastered “Sit” and is currently learning “Lay Down”.

She loves to be cuddled and always wanting to be near her people.

She is a great alarm dog as she loves to go with her foster mom and wake up the children by sniffing them with her wet nose.

She is a sensitive Great Dane who wants to please her people and easily gets upset if she thinks she’s in trouble.

While she adores her foster Dad, she has shown hesitant towards some men. Give her a little time, she’ll soon warm up to them.

She enjoys car rides.

She is not afraid of storms.

We, as her foster family, have been very please with this very sweet and loving Dayla.
