My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey ... it’s Gunner and I’m back. I’m not totally blameless – I love to get into stuff; then again, I am an adolescent. Whoever adopts me needs to have an active lifestyle, be home a lot during the day, and be willing to use a crate when I am left alone. Left to my own devices I tend to get myself into a whole lot of trouble. While I was away, I was diagnosed with epilepsy which is under control with medication. I sometimes have these “episodes” when I look a little dazed and will run around after my tail. Despite my condition, I am going to need plenty of exercise as I am a rambunctious adolescent who requires lots of activity. Signing me up for Obedience Training would be a wonderful idea; I have the smarts and aim to please. So if you’re looking for a loyal companion and want to bring some enthusiasm and joy into your home, then I guarantee I’m the dog for you! Fill in the Adoption Form and mention my name.

Gunner is my name and I am an 11-month-old, Husky x Shepherd who was brought to safety by the Nordic Paws Project. When I first arrived at Animatch I needed medical attention as I had a few bite marks. Although, life is more or less peaceful among the dogs that roam the North, if you throw a female in heat into the mix everything goes awry. Just because I am an adolescent doesn’t mean that I don’t have the urge to mate. Of course I wasn't alone, there were several unneutered males all vying for one female’s affection ... guess what, a fight broke out and I was definitely not the winner! In any case, I am on the mend – from my wounds and my surgery (sterilization) -- and ready to move on to my furever home. I am a typical, frisky adolescent who likes to jump up and is full of get-up-and-go. Daily walks, runs or hikes and lots of activity are what I crave. My buddies at the Centre yip that I am supposed to learn to walk on something called a leash – and apparently the purpose is not to drag my human to their final destination in record time. They also yap that it is essential that I learn my basic commands for my safety and theirs. They mention going to doggy school (who knew that there was such a place). Anyhow, I will do anything to make you happy; sign me up, I’m your guy! This boy is smart and eager to learn –a perfect candidate for obedience training. I am on the lookout for someone who has the patience to work with a young, exuberant dog like me. I guarantee that one day you will feel so lucky to have me as your loyal and well-behaved companion. I am extremely eager to go home and get started with my new family. Are you that family? Fill in the Adoption Form if you would like to adopt me ... the name is GUNNER.
