Baxter's Story...
Adoption Pending. BAXTER is a handsome, young mixed breed male who was found as a stray in Troy in NW TN. He is over 1 year of age and weighs 60 to 65 pounds. His foster says that he is super sweet and loves kids. He has been observed with children 8 years of age and older, but we expect he would also do well with younger children. He gets along well with people and with other dogs. He has chased the cats at his foster home, but does not seem aggressive toward them. He needs work on leash training which he is currently receiving. He was heartworm positive when he was first rescued, but has now completed the treatment needed to rid him of heartworms. He has been vetted, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Baxter if it means he will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit rescue to cover part of the cost of the veterinary care he has received.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baxter, a Union City Australian Shepherd/St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/St. Bernard for sale in Union City, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Union City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Union City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Union City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/St. Bernard breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Union City paves the way for another one to be saved.
