My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name? Freyah

How old are you? I'm 5 months old! I was born (a/o 10/30/16)

How much do you weigh? 30 healthy pounds!

What do you look like? I am fuzzy with black and white fur. I have white speckled paws and a skunk stripe between my beautiful bright eyes. I am a tripawd dog, which makes me pretty special!!

What do you like to eat? I like my kibble which is Costco Grain Free Puppy.

What kind of personality do you have? I'm just a baby so everything is new to me! I like to investigate things with my nose and my mouth. I am happy and bouncy and I like to play!

Describe your perfect day: I would like to wake up and play, then eat and nap..then repeat that until it's night time.

What is your favorite toy? I love the pink rope I stole from my foster sister. Hee hee!

Do you know any tricks? Is chasing my tail a trick? I recently discovered I have one. I can't catch it though. It's fast!

What scares you? I'm just a baby so I see new things every day. Sometimes I get afraid, but I look to my foster mom and my foster dog-sister to know if I am supposed to be afraid or not. As I grow bigger I get braver and braver.

Have you been around children? Do you like them? Human kids? I like those! They wiggle and smell good. I like them a lot especially when they run. I like to chase.

Do you like cats? I smelled a cat and I liked it! Does that count? My neighbor kitty is pretty cool.

How do you feel about other dogs? I like my foster sister who is my size, but my big foster sister tries to squish me with her paw and that scares me. I feel like I would like another dog who likes me back.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? Playing tug with my family. I like to play tug.

How is your health? Excellent! I recently had my injured leg amputated at the vet's recommendation and I feel good!

Who do you live with your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with my humans who are mom, dad, sister (15) and brother (12). I also have two foster dog sisters who are a chiweenie and a Staffordshire terrier.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I have a crate that I stay in.

Where do you sleep? In my crate.

Do you like walking on a leash? I don't know. I will probably learn that after I get all my shots.

Do you have any not-so-great habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard? No. I'm a baby so I have to learn the rules as I go. My foster mommy says I'm very smart and I learn quickly. So if something is a no, I learn that fast.

Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside) I'm as potty trained as I can be for my age. I hold my potty all night in my crate. I go potty on the grass when you ask me to, but I am still learning to go outside all the time.

Do you like water? To drink? Yes! I've never played in it. Are you supposed to do that?

What do you love about your foster family? They took care of me when my dog-mommy couldn't. So I love them lots.

What was your life like before being brought into NorCal Bully Breed Rescue? I don't remember. I was only 5 days old. But my foster mommy said I was hurt accidentally, so to keep me safe, I came to my foster family.

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$350. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Freyah's adoption donation is $350.

Interested in meeting Freyah or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
