Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This gorgeous young, red girl named Chessa Charmander was found running stray along the highway in Northwest Harris County. After an extensive search, her finder had no luck locating a missing owner and did not want to take her to a scary shelter, so she contacted DREAM for help. She simply couldn’t believe such a beautiful, well behaved dog could be abandoned with no collar and no chip. Now a DREAM Dachsie, her foster mom tells us Chessa is very affectionate and wants to be close to her human all the time. She would do fine either with or without a dog buddy as she doesn't spend a lot of time snuggling with other dogs. Chessa is not food aggressive but is somewhat possessive and did scuffle a bit over a bully stick. Like most Dachshunds, she does get barky at doorbells, door knocks and the arrival of new people. She does great with adults and grown kids over the age of ten, but is not at all comfortable with younger children. Chessa LOVES to be in the backyard; squirrel and bird watching is a favorite pastime of hers! She's doing a great job learning to walk on a leash, she's crate trained and has had no house-training accidents. This girl is just super cute! Chessa is looking for a loving forever family, maybe yours?
