Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Uno is number 1 in GDR’s books! This handsome 5 year old boy is spending his time in a wonderful foster home in Maryland. Weighing in at 16 pounds he is a large miniature.
Uno is crate trained and house trained but like all dachshunds he will need to be confident in his environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important.
Uno is loves to spend time in the yard at his foster home. He would like to be hunter! He should not be in a home with kitties or other small animals like rabbits or guinea pigs. This sweet boy loves to sleep in the big bed and would love to have a home where he could keep doing that. Uno does need to be watched so that he doesn’t jump off and on furniture. He is learning the command ‘wait’ in his foster home.
Uno is very sweet natured! He loves people of all ages and other dogs too. He is always happy and ready to give love! This is a very laid back boy who is happy to be where ever you are. Uno would do well in a home with children over the age of 8 who understand dachshunds needs.
Because Uno has cervical IVDD he should never be leashed with a collar, and only use a harness for for gentle walks. At some point in his life Uno suffered from a broken leg that was not treated and this has left with him with slightly uneven gait.
This happy boy would love a home and a lap to call his very own. Wouldn’t you love it to be you?
