My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HENRY is a 4 year old neutered chocolate male Lab who weighs 58 pounds Henry is a happy dog and likes to be with you getting attention and having his butt scratched. He is happy to chase after toys and sometimes he brings them back but he has fun doing it. Henry will work for praise more than for treats. Henry would like a home with someone who is home more than they are gone. He would like a yard so he can run and play. Kids 6 and up as we don't have history, he was around owners baby and was good with him. Good with other dogs lived with two Pomeranians. Okay with other dogs as long as they don't get in his face. Knows sit, down, come will wait for food if you tell him too. Okay on lead better with an easy walk. House and crate trained. Evaluator said: Visited Henry yesterday he is very sweet & gentle. Craves attention and just wants to hang out with you. He is approved for kids 6+. More info soon!

Update: Henry has blossomed in recent weeks and proven to be a wonderful companion who bonds deeply to his people once he's established a bond of trust! He enjoys hanging out with his people and is stuck on you like glue when he sees the telltale signs of an upcoming walk. He loves to nap near his family and looks adorable while doing so whether he's sprawled out or in a cute little dog ball. Henry is grateful to be allowed to sleep on FM's bed and has proven to be very considerate in that he doesn't move around, is not a space hog, and will let FM sleep as late as desired. He is a great traveler in the car and walks well unless he sees squirrels or cats. He knows many commands such as sit, down, stay, come, and heel. He is getting better when he sees new dogs on walks, and listens to his handler when she tells him to "heel." Henry is wondering where his forever family is hiding, and hopes they come to meet him soon!

Update: Henry is 4 year old sweetheart looking for a new companion (or several) with whom to hang out. This beautiful boy is well behaved and does not beg for food or attention though he is appreciative of both when offered. Though he loves his walks, this gorgeous guy is fairly low energy and would like nothing more than to spend his day snoozing near his people or cruising around in the car. This smart pup knows many commands and will do best with an experienced dog owner who will reinforce his training. He enjoys ball fetching and playing chase with his people in a fenced area. With his sweet, gentle demeanor, Henry is easy to love!

Update: Who doesn't love chocolate? Henry #3 is looking for a new companion (or several) with whom to hang out and a comfortable couch, car seat, or bed to keep warm. This beautiful boy is very well behaved and does not beg for food or attention though he is appreciative of both when offered. Though he loves his walks, this gorgeous guy is fairly low energy and would like nothing more than to spend his day snoozing near wherever you are or cruising around in the car. This smart pup knows many commands and will do best with an experienced dog owner who will reinforce his training. We're still working on ball fetching as he's more prone to getting it, running with it a bit before it squirts from his mouth, scrambling to get it again, and halfheartedly burying it. He's such a goofball when he tries to catch it because this poor pup has the worst eye-mouth coordination. With his sweet, gentle demeanor, Henry is easy to love!

Update: Who doesn't love chocolate? Henry #3, a beautiful milk boy with a few blond highlights, is looking for a new home after his original owner had a baby and gave him up. He is very well behaved and does not beg for food or even seem to care when you eat. Henry appreciates love and attention but doesn't demand it from you. He loves his twice daily walks and looks forward to saying hello to everyone he meets. This gorgeous guy is fairly low energy and would like nothing more than to spend his day snoozing near wherever you are. This smart pup knows many commands and will do best with an experienced dog owner who will continue his training. With his sweet, gentle demeanor, this pup is easy to love!

Update: This stunning dog is looking for a soft place to land and a mom and/or dad who will cherish him as much he will adore you. Henry likes to hang out with you while he naps in any of his various favorite spots. He looks forward to his walks and eagerly sits when you pick up his leash. He will do best with a family who will help redirect him when he gets excited. He loves all people and accepts pets from anyone while he shares kisses freely. This beautiful sweetheart is a gentle soul who will steal your heart if you let him

Update: Henry is a well-behaved pup who loves his people. He will settle down by himself when the humans leave and doesn't get into stuff. He walks well on the leash and he will bark at other dogs when they're on the leash, but when corrected he responds well and continues on. He will need an experienced owner and is not recommended for first-time adopters. One of Henry's favorite things is to hang out with his humans at home.
