Roxie's Story...
Roxie is a beautiful, 18 lb, one-year-old girl. She was saved from a high-kill shelter in West TN. We believe she may be a schnauzer/dachshund/yorkie mix. She loves to snuggle (although she is a wiggle worm!) and give lots of kisses to her humans once she warms up to them! Roxie is a medium energy gal. She is a bit nervous and uneasy around new people, but we believe once she has some consistency in her life, that will improve! Roxie does well with other dogs although she doesn't actively play with them. She isn't house broken yet, but she is crate trained! Roxie's potential family will need to be patient with her while she learns to trust. She is a sweet girl who just wants her own family to call her own. If you are interested in adding Roxie to your family, please go to www.goofyfootrescue.org to complete an online adoption application. Roxie is being fostered in West TN and will be transported up north once her adoption is finalized.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxie, a Southington Schnauzer (Miniature)/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Dachshund for sale in Southington, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Southington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature)/Dachshund breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature)/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southington paves the way for another one to be saved.
