Additional info: Barkley was surrendered to the shelter by a family who said they had no time for him and no room for him in the house. He was severely matted and neglected. You should see him now. Initially Barkley was a little scared and nervous when meeting new people but he has settled down and now loves everyone although he can still take a little while to warm up, especially to men. This boy loves to run and jog and he can keep pace with anyone, even on his little legs. He is highly obedient off leash and loves playing catch. Barkley He can be a little possessive of his person but he does listen. The way to his heart is through treats and toys. For the time being we do not recommend him for a home with young children but he is not at all aggressive. He is fine being left alone during the day, loves riding in cars, being outdoors and playing catch and jogging. He's incredibly cuddly and easy going. Barkley has a spunky, upbeat personality and is a complete love bug who would make a wonderful companion for anyone.
