Isabell is a beautiful 11 year old black and tan longhaired dachshund. This little sweetheart has a real zest for life and food. She adores children as well as belly rubs, going for walks and car rides. Isabell weighs about 13 pounds. One of Isabell's favorite tricks is to lie down and with her front paws together she waves at you to give her belly rubs. Isabell came into rescue unable to walk due to a 4 month old back injury (ruptured disc in her back). She was scheduled for surgery almost immediately then she had her big day at Colorado Canine Orthopedics in Colorado Springs. No one was sure what the outcome of surgery would be, but we were all hoping for the best. The wonderful skill and experience of her surgeon combined with Isabell's love-of-life made for an impressive recovery. She has been up on all four legs, walking and even running, when she can get away with it, for 5 months. She also finished 5 weeks of physical therapy. Isabell has the slightest bunny hop when she runs otherwise she looks, acts and moves like any other dachshund. Isabell's ideal forever home will have a securely fenced yard, a human that is home more than gone, no aggressive dogs big or small and no children under the age of 9 years.
