Sir Elton's Story...
Sir Elton John was left abandoned by a person living in a rental home. He wandered over to a work site about a month ago and was pretty much ignored but hung around. Someone new to that work site this week kindly took him home Thursday and reached out for help. Sir Elton is under weight and possibly has a weakness in his hip. Sometimes he limps, sometimes not, but he seems a little slow moving and might lose his balance some. He will need a vet exam please. He is a little shy but warms up nicely/quickly and wants to please you. He is calm and quiet. He is good with dogs, cats and kids. His tail is just a nub, maybe born that way, not sure. One eye is blue with brown in the bottom corner and the other eye is blue with brown in the top corner. It is quite striking. He is very cute at just 26lbs and will remain a corgi size dog even when well nourished. 1-2 years, 25 lbs

Act quickly to adopt Sir Elton. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sir Elton, a Darlington Whippet dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Whippet for sale in Darlington, or seeking a Whippet dog from a breeder in Darlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Darlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Darlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Whippet breeders who help with Whippet rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Darlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
