Picard's Story...
Picard (born 6/26/2016) is an adorable mixed breed male. He is nothing like his namesake Captain Picard of Star Trek. Puppy Picard is a bouncy, active goofball. Based on his growth chart he will probably be around 40 pounds when fully grown. Mom is a mix Lab-German Shepherd; dad is unknown. Picard likes to be held on his back and gently swung in the air; maybe he likes flying?! He also enjoys playing with toys and his siblings. Picard has started potty pad training and doing very well. He has been exposed to other dogs, a cat, children, and the vacuum cleaner - no problems with any.

Picard was born in a foster home with his 7 siblings soon after his mom was rescued from the shelter. He has been raised in a loving and healthy environment, and is now ready for his forever home.

He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, current on trifexis, and one of the cutest pups you'll ever meet! Fill out an app for him here: http://forrescue.net/dog-application/. Once received, his foster mom will be in touch.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Picard, a Knoxville Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
