Freesia's Story...
Growing up in a shelter is no fun but sadly that is what Freesia and Lilac have done. They first came into our facility as tiny kittens who were born outside and not used to having people handling them. Over time, they learned that humans are not a bad thing but all the noises in a shelter are still scary. Freesia and Lilac are still nervous around too much excitement and take a few minutes to warm up to visitors so unfortunately many people have passed them up. They are growing up quickly and are now 3 1/2 months old. Both love other cats and would be thrilled if they could find a home together. We know it will take a special adopter to look past their shyness but we are positive there is a home out there for them. Their adoption fee is $145 each and includes all age appropriate vaccines, registered microchips, fecal exams, dewormings, felv tests, and spays.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Freesia, a Joliet Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Joliet, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Joliet.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Joliet already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Joliet breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Joliet paves the way for another one to be saved.
