My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTED!
*GUS*
#278-16
Male Mix Breed
Date in: 7/11/16

My name is Gus and I have been having a harder time than most adjusting to life in a kennel at the Muskingum County Dog Warden & Adoption Center. Unfamiliar people can scare me a little and make me nervous but once I warm up, I am a completely different boy! I am pretty easy to get in and out of my kennel and walk well on a leash. So far I have gotten along with all of the dogs I have met but I have not been around any cats or kids yet. If you want to visit me, please understand that I may come off a little gruff at first, but if a volunteer can introduce us, you'll see that I really am a calm, older guy who is just trying to protect myself from the unknown.

Available for adoption at:
Muskingum County Dog Warden & Adoption Center
1500 Newark Rd., Zanesville, Ohio 43701
740-453-0273

Please call ahead if you plan to visit.
Open M-F 11-5 and Saturday 11-1.

Adoption fee is $105 which includes spay/neuter, combo and rabies shots, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test and dog tags. (Although some of the dogs come to the pound spayed or neutered, most do not. If you adopt a dog that has not yet been spayed/neutered, we will set up an appointment for the dog to be spayed/neutered before it can leave the facility.)
