Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FREYA
MASR is in need of a foster or adoptive home for Freya, a lovely 6 year old spayed female German Shepherd. Freya is highly motivated to please, very intelligent and is crate and house trained. Freya needs someone who can continue to work on her confidence in different situations as she can be a bit insecure at times and due to this insecurity, she tends to bond quite quickly and closely to her handler.
Freya enjoys most dogs and playing but will need a proper introduction to any dogs who she will be interacting with. The right match in a dog companion for Freya would be a playful but respectful dog. She also shows herding instinct and will attempt to do so with some dogs. It is also best that Freya not be allowed off leash outside of a fenced in yard at this time, due to her herding and chase instinct.
Freya has been showing significant progress in interacting with people and can be inquisitive and friendly, however her handler will need to continue to work on this socialization and practice caution in her interactions with people. Freya will need significant physical and mental exercise to satisfy her body and brain, which will also help her to relax. A calm, confident handler is a must for Freya as she is very in tune with her handlers energy and body postures.
She has been making great progress where she is, and we would like to get her into more of a home setting with an experienced foster or forever home to continue this progress! Interested foster or adoptive applicants will be put in touch with our trainer to discuss Freya's needs and ensure she is placed in a home that will set her up for success.
