Name: Grissom Gender: Male Age: 1.5 years old Approx.size/weight when full grown: 15lbs small height Breed: Shitzu mix History: He was found on a back road north of Calgary covered head to toe in matts and with bad cherry eyes. He has been in our care for a while. During this time we have had him groomed and his cherry eyes removed. Over this time we have learned that he is very selective with dog friends and perfers men over women. He has mood swings which we are controling with medication that he may have to stay on for his whole life. His mood swings can cause him to nip. He needs a home with no kids and no other animals. He have seen that he feels threatened or insecure when people or animals try to take things from him, or enter his space on his bed/kennel. He will need someone with some experience using force-free, positive handling and patience. He iswilling work for food and would do well with some more training. The volunteer working with him on his behaviour is willing to continue helping the person that adopts him to set him up for success and help them understand his behaviour and how best to handle him too An older couple or single person would be ideal Adoption status: Available
It is my passion to help homeless, neglected and abused animals. I have been working in Calgary and area trying to help as many of these animals as I can by supporting families in my target community outside the city and here in Calgary, along with feeding many homeless dogs and cats.
With the support of my family and friends and their donations I have been able to start up this small rescue to help as many as I can.

Our Adoption Process...
Once you have found a dog that you think will be a match for you and your family we ask that you send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your filled out application. Please fill out ALL of the question to help process your application faster. We do our best to try and review all incoming applications within a 48 hour time frame.
Keeping in mind that our rescue is ran by volunteers we will only be contacting the applications that are a great match with one of our dogs.
Once we have processed the application we will contact references and the applicant. If the application is approved we will then set up a time to meet the dog. Once everything has been completed we will schedule an adoption day. This will all depend on the age of the dog and if it still needs to be neutered/spayed. None of our dogs will be released to their new home until they are spayed or neutered.
Our adoption fee is $375 for Dogs and $175 for Cats which includes the following:
Spay/neuter Microchip 1st set of shots Rabies (depending on age) Deworming Please Note: We require our adopters to have a fenced yard (unless you live in a condo) and to be over the age of 18. All renters need to provide Landlord consent before their application can be processed
