Shirley is a smart, friendly girl that loves to be close to people!

Report from Shirley's Foster Mom:

"Shirley LOVES to cuddle! She isn't a lap dog, but always wants to be right next to me. She sleeps with me and loves to be by my side. She is always very excited when I come home, especially if I have been gone awhile. Yesterday she was jumping up and down like a pogo stick when I came home! Shirley has the perfect amount of energy. She is 100% housetrained and will even pull on my pant leg if I don't notice that she needs to go outside. She is very smart! She is an absolute joy and has a lot of love to give. I can't say enough good things about her. I can't imagine why she hasn't been adopted by now. She may be 10, but she sure has a lot of good years left!

It took her a couple of days in my home to really feel comfortable with me and now that I have had her for almost a week, her adorable personality is really shining. I took Shirley home because I felt bad for her being at the shelter so long, I didn't expect that I would fall in love with her like I have. I truly love that sweet girl!" -Ann, MARL Foster.

Compatibility:
Based on our evaluation, we think it could be possible for Shirley to get along with other dogs and cats.

*Shirley is currently spending time in a foster home while she waits for her forever home. If you are interested in meeting Shirley, call 248-335-9290 to make an appointment!

About Michigan Animal Rescue League

About Our Shelter...

The Michigan Animal Rescue League believes that every animal deserves the highest quality of life. Each and every animal that comes through our door is given unconditional love and regard in the form of physical care, socialization and the day to day joys that an animal would receive in a home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Come see us at the shelter Tuesday thru Saturday 11am-4pm.

Our Adoption Process...

•Once you decide on a particular animal, you will fill out an adoption application, which can be done online at michigananimalrescueleague.org or in person.

•You can then take a day or two to prepare your home and make proper introductions if you have children or other animals in your home. We ask that you bring your children and other animals to the shelter for an outdoor introduction.

•One to five days after submitting your application you should receive a call from MARL that a perfect match has been made between you, your home and the animal. You can make arrangements to pick up your dog or cat from the shelter.

•When you arrive at the shelter you will sign the adoption agreement and take care of adoption fees. ($200 for dogs and $100 for cats) All animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccination before they go home.
