  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Little Sonic was an owner surrender. She's 11 1/2 years old and like all seniors she's an absolute sweetheart. Sonic is small animal friendly. Sonic is very very smart. She learned to dog door almost immediately.
She would do best in a quiet home.

Sonic has a chronic condition called CUPS. She only has a few teeth left but it's possible that eventually she will need to have the remaining teeth removed, Some information about CUPS:

onic also has corns. While under anesthesia for her last dental the vet hulled her corns but one is coming back. There are different things you can do for corns to make walking more comfortable for the greyhound. Currently I am using a dremel on the one corn that has come back and that is giving her relief.

About Greyhound Hope Rehabilitation & Adoption

About Our Rescue Group...

Greyhound Hope Rehabilitation and Adoption, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) all volunteer organization consisting of like minded individuals that have a strong love and commitment for the welfare of the racing greyhound.

Greyhound Hope Rehabilitation and Adoption mission is to offer assistance to greyhounds with a career ending broken leg.

We plan to fulfill our mission by working closely and respectfully with both the Greyhound Racing Industry and other greyhound organizations, by promoting greyhound adoption, educating the public why greyhounds make wonderful pets and by working diligently to find loving, qualified adoptive homes for our greyhounds once they have completed their rehabilitation.

Our Adoption Process...

All of our greyhounds are in foster care before they are adopted and we attempt to match each dog's personality with the lifestyle of the adopter. Our goal is not just to place Greyhounds in homes, but also to achieve successful, permanent placements – - the right dog for each adopter.

Our adoption process includes an online adoption application that is followed by a home visit, which is intended to assist us in finding the right dog for each adopter. Adopting the Racing Greyhound (third edition), by Cynthia Branigan, is suggested reading for all who wish to adopt from GHRA.
While you are reading "Adopting the Racing Greyhound" by Cynthia Branigan, please jot down any questions you may have so they can be discussed during the home visit.
