My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Black Velvet. The saying goes, "you've come a long way baby" and you can say that about me. I've come a long way since first arriving here at the shelter. I was adopted once, but unfortunately they had to move and were not longer able to keep me. The folks here have been working with me and I have improved quite a bit but I am still very shy and nervous and take a while to trust and warm up but yummy treats sure do help. I like the company of other cats and once I feel comfortable I can purr and be a love bug. I still have a soft spot for bits of string, crinkled up scraps of paper and fuzzy little things I can bat around. I am a beautiful little fellow looking for someone who understands that it will take time, patience and a lot of positive reinforcement for me to feel part of the family. With my extra shy nature I am considered a Special Needs adoption and I am looking for a house with adults only.
