Sweets's Story...
My name is Sweets and loving is my game. I was surrendered for adoption when my family sold all my puppies but, it's my turn to be the center of attention. I have put all that behind me now and am looking straight ahead. I am a laid back lady looking for leisurely strolls around the neighborhood followed by a quick trip to the local Ice Cream shop where I hear most give out FREE doggie cones! I mean, come on.... who wouldn't want that. I get along great here with other dogs and love all the staff. So if you happen to have a free couch to share come on in and see me. Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! www.capeannanimalaid.org 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweets, a Gloucester Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
