My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

8/14/16 Initial bio Here's Mookie. Who wouldn't love this adorable 5-pound, 8 year old Yorkie mix? Mookie is being fostered in Leesburg, FL.

Mookie's adoption fee is $300 and includes all vetting (neuter/spay, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Mookie by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.

Mookie is the cutest little Teddy bear of a boy. He is as soft as a stuffed toy with wavy dark hair that feels as soft as a cloud when you cuddle him up to you and pet him. Most likely Mookie is a mix of Yorkie and Maltese. He is a Morkie—Mookie the Morkie.

As sweet as Mookie is the other dog in his former home did not like him. This older dog was getting very stressed by having Mookie in his home and began to show signs of being in distress. Sadly his owners had to consider their older dog and decided it would be best for Mookie to find a home that was much better for him. A place where he would be the center of attention and get all the love and cuddle time he wanted.

Mookie is up to date on his vaccinations. He will be getting his neuter and dental this week. It is likely Mookie may lose some teeth since they are in bad shape. Mookie also marks. His foster parents are hoping that being neutered will help that. For now he is wearing a bellyband in the house. He will also do his business outside so he is most likely trainable, even at his age. It may just take little time and consistency. Mookie did great in the car ride to his foster home. He is getting along great with the other dogs, and he does love to be held and cuddled.

Mookie needs to be in a home with no other dogs, or maybe just one other calm, non-aggressive dog. He would not do well with children under the age of 14, though he would much prefer adults.

There will be more coming on Mookie very soon after his vet visit and when his foster parents get to know him better.
