My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kennedy has been with RHAR since June of 2016 - she came to us from a high-intake NY shelter where her past was not great, to say the least. She has spent over a year in an amazing foster home and has made so much progress! She would really like a home of her very own to continue to grow and learn with.

Kennedy will require a patient and loving family that will understand her quirks and love her all the same :) She can still be timid, however her confidence continues to grow and her personality shines through more and more. Ideally, Kennedy would like a calm, stable home with a fenced in yard, as well as a confident fur sibling!

1.) She does the BEST morning happy dance - ever.
2.) She is a great running partner to keep you motivated (she runs 8 miles with her foster mom!)
3.) She loves to be close to her people and wants nothing more than to be loved and cuddle
4.) She will encourage you to be a healthier eater; she loves her veggies (she may even thieve them when you're not looking :-o )
5.) She's very clever ... when she wants to be ;)
6.) She's incredibly loyal and devoted to the people she loves.
7.) She's down to keep you company when you go on a Netflix binge.
8.) Her joys are SO big that you can't help but to be excited along with her.

Kennedy would do best in a calm home without small children (16 and over). She can be overwhelmed in new situations (outside of her comfort zone) and around groups of strangers. She does tolerate new things surprisingly well, as long as she's allowed to take them in at her own pace and not pushed too far. We can't recommend a home with cats, as we are not sure exactly how she would do with them loose in the house; she did have foster kitten siblings, but may have been a little too interested in them for our comfort.

If you would like to meet Kennedy and possibly become her angel, showing her what it's like to be a member of a real forever family, please fill out an adoption application at www.rhar.org.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
