Meet , Donnie, our rescued goofball! He has proven to be a great house guest. Wanting to please, training has come along way and fun, using treats. Some commands he already knows are sit, shake, lay down, and high five! If you are looking for a walking partner, Donnie is your guy! He loves going on walks, doesn't pull, and will even heel when asked to. Being a content, happy dog, he rarely barks, except when being crated. He loves being by his people, and sleeps next to his foster families bed. Although, he would prefer to cuddle on your bed! Mr. Friendly loves meeting other people, including children and most other dogs. He does great with larger dogs, but needs a longer adjustment period with smaller dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Donnie, a Elgin Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Elgin, or seeking a Boxer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Elgin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elgin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elgin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Boxer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elgin paves the way for another one to be saved.
