Facts about Daisy

  • Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: White - With Gray Or Silver
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
"Cinderella Daisy" was used as a breeding machine, and then abandoned at a high kill shelter in the Antelope Valley, with an ugly, itchy skin condition. And without her newborn puppies.
Daisy may not have been loved at home and may well have looked like the ugliest dog in the shelter, but she was loved by the shelter staff, who fought to extend her time. K9 Kismet, with the help of three fosters and another wonderful rescue, saved her on her final day.
There's a reason the staff at the high kill shelter love her: Daisy is great! And, like Cinderella, she is beautiful! Daisy aka "Bat Girl" is happy, eager to please, and has had more than just basic training. She sits, stays, comes and has advanced leash manners. She is happy to go for brisk walks and good hikes, but is also happy just sleeping next to you for hours while you work or relax at home. She loves people, seems good with non-aggressive and non-dominant dogs, and seems to be fine with cats. She is also fine with joggers, cyclists, skateboarders, and motorcycles - in other words, no issues with things that bother a lot of dogs! And she is quiet! If you have other pets, she should be introduced slowly and should not be subjected to dominant or aggressive dogs. She should also be more thoroughly cat tested but so far so good! Daisy has either allergies or an autoimmune disease (we are still working to determine the exact issue) that led to her bad skin condition at the shelter, but it seems easily controlled with diet and inexpensive medication. She is now spayed, up to date on shots, and has had her teeth professionally cleaned - as a Cinderella dog should.

About K9 Kismet Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

K9 Kismet was founded to provide a resource for families of 4-legged (or 3-legged... we love our tripods) furries to be able to stay together in times of financial hardship by offering assistance with food, medical, and housing relocation services.

Our secondary mission is to rescue shelter animals and find them forever home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets are residents of their foster family homes and are available for meet and greets by appointment. We are currently too small to hold adoption events, but may be invited to participate in events hosted by other rescues. Stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for event announcements.

Our Adoption Process...

All adopters must be willing to complete an adoption application and home check prior to placement of the animal. All members of the household are required to meet the pet prior to adoption. If other animals are in the home, a meet and greet among the animals is also required. We offer foster-to-adopt options if additional time is needed.

Adoption fees vary on animal and medical status, but in general are:

$200 - young and adult dogs*
$150 - seniors*
$150 - young and adult cats*
$100 - senior cats*

$300* for puppies or kittens who have not yet received all vaccinations prior to entering our rescue - getting them ready to enter mainstream society is expensive!

*Prices listed above are maximum prices. If our costs to care for the animal are less than the amounts listed above, K9 Kismet will offer a discount.

All animals are vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.
