Spirit comes to us as a stray who we saved from Maricopa Counties E List. Maricopa County was going to have to put her to sleep due to her injuries.

Spirit was brought into county on Monday evening about 9 pm. Americas freedom paws went to county on Tuesday to do an evaluation and we decided we would save this life as she is a very kind soul. Spirit was due to be PTS on Wednesday morning.

Spirit arrived at our house about 430 pm on Tuesday and we immediately took her to our specialty vet Pet Urgent Care on Cave Creek and the 101. Spirit came home that night around 1245 am.
Spirit is healing nicely, as you see Sprit was most likely uses as a bait dog, which is very sad, and miraculously she survived. In surgery the Vet noticed some burns so they shaved her back so they could heal. Someone has burnt her with chemicals.

Spirit has tested negative on heartworm, valley fever and tick fever. Spirit is only 12 months old so she is still a puppy although weighing in at 55 pounds she is done growing tall but will possibly fill out more. Spirit loves her humans, loves kids and loves to go on walks, play fetch and ride in the car. Spirit is potty and kennel trained. Spirit likes small dogs but is hit or miss with big dogs. Spirit deserves the best life with kids and people who like to take walks. Spirit is a great dog, looking for that perfect home!!!!!

About Americas Freedom Paws Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Mission:
Our mission is to provide homes for the lost, forgotten, abused, e-listed and unwanted animals in Arizona.

We love saving dogs, we are a very small rescue with only 5 people running it. We save dogs from the e list, strays and we take owner surrenders. We love what we do. We have our animals with us in a foster environment not in boarding or kennels. A foster based environment helps with training, bonding, and for the dog to be socialized.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process is as follows: once we find someone interested in one of our pets, we see first thing if they have any others in their home. If the interested adopters have no other animals, we will let them do a home trial to see if the animal is a good fit. Once the family decides it is a good fit, we come over, drop off the paperwork and complete a home check at the same time. Home checks are required for all our adoptions.
