Mrs. Watson's Story...
Hi, my name is Mrs. Watson,

my former owner named me Watson, but the Ark changed it to Mrs. Watson, since I am a female. I have had two homes and in both homes the dogs bullied me. I don't mind dogs, but if you have a home where I can be not bullied it would be nice.

I was born June 2013, this would make me 3 years young. I am a tri-color (3 colors), have the body of a collie, but the ears and legs of the short basset.

Please come and visit me at the Ark, take me out for a walk and see if you like me.

If you come, ask for Mrs. Watson, that's me!

Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mrs. Watson, a Huntsville Collie/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Basset Hound for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Collie/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Basset Hound breeders who help with Collie/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
