Wait a second, that's not a puppy and she's not from an island! Betty Boop is originally from Piscataway and has been in a Middlesex foster home for 8 years! She is a pretty, petite, shy girl that badly needs a real home of her own. She had a cat friend (the only one she ever loved) that has now passed away. She and the resident cats do not get along so Betty spends almost all of time alone. She has her own room, good food, toys, beds and a sunny window but very little human companionship. She craves affection and to be brushed and would make someone without other cats a wonderful companion once she got over her initial shyness. If you would be interested in making Betty part of your family, please email us at islandpups@msn.com for an adoption application.

About Island Puppy Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Island Puppy Rescue is a small group of volunteers that facilitate the transport and adoption of puppies from the Caribbean Island of Anguilla and/or other islands. We work with Anguilla Animal Rescue Foundation (www.aarf.ai) to find permanent loving homes for those animals in need.

All puppies/dogs are vetted before leaving the island and once they are in NJ. All are given age appropriate vaccinations, worming treatments and flea and tick preventative. All puppies/dogs live in foster homes, we do not have a shelter facility. Puppies under six months old are adopted out with a contract stating that the adopter is to have the puppy altered at 6 months of age and provide proof to Island Puppy Rescue of surgery. At that time Island Puppy Rescue will reimburse the adopter $50.00. Puppies over the age of 6 months are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

Come Meet Our Pets...

In order to meet our puppies/dogs, you must submit an adoption application and, if the application is approved, we will contact applicants to set up a mutually convenient time for applicants to meet the puppy/dog either at the foster home or the applicant's home.

Our Adoption Process...

An application must be submitted via email. If the application is approved, the applicant will be contacted by the foster home to set up a mutually convenient time to meet the puppy or dog either in the foster home or their home as agreed between foster and potential adopter. Ample time will be allowed for the animal and the potential adopter to become acquainted, all questions will be answered. At this meeting, if both parties agree that it is a good fit, the adoption goes through.

The adopter pays a $300 adoption fee and signs an adoption and spay/neuter contract. Information on low cost spay neuter options will be provided to the adopter. Island Puppy Rescue will do follow ups to see how the adoption is going.
