If you're looking for a macho dog who will keep you safe, ward off unwanted visitors and be a general "protection" dog, you'll have to look elsewhere because Turk's motto is "Belly rubs, belly rubs and more belly rubs!" The last thing on Turk's mind is any sort of confrontation whatsoever. You see, this sweet, gentle boy came from a bad situation that has left him wanting nothing but love, kindness and nurturing. He was first brought in to a high-kill city shelter with another puppy and 2 adults one of whom must have been his mom -- a female Mastiff. They were all claimed by their owner. But one week later, Turk was found outside the same home, severely emaciated. Animal control seized him and we pulled him into our group where he's been learning that life holds lots of wonderful things for him.
Turk is a total lovebug. He's being fostered in a home with kids and small dogs and he loves everyone. He loves to fall into your lap and get belly rubs for hours on end. He LOVES kids and will play with them for as long as they'll play with him! He is a very gentle soul who will do best in a dog-experienced home where his people have lots of patience, love and understanding. Turk is about 4 months old, he weighs about 25 pounds and he is a very healthy boy. We have no idea what his true mix is -- a "mini-Mastiff"??
