Gus's Story...
What a great boy! This dog, our Gus, is the epitome of what a Labrador retriever should be. He loves to chase tennis balls, he loves to swim and he loves to accompany his people wherever they go. He is a fabulous dog! Oh yeah, he is gorgeous too.

Gus is about 3 1/2 years old. He is neutered and up to date on his shots and is heartworm negative. He is a taller "fieldy type" and weighs about 70 lbs.

Gus can catch a flying tennis ball and with his ball skills could practically play outfielder for a baseball or softball team. Just give him his water and he is off again after the catch of the season!

It is a pleasure to see a Lab with the instincts that were so part of this breed from the beginning. We don't always see this these days because of how many are bred. The first Lab breeders were looking for certain traits and almost every dog had them.

Our Gus is a true blue lab and we love him! Please apply if you are prepared to fall head over heals in love with a big ol' chocolate Lab.

If you would like to adopt Gus, please submit an adoption application from our website, and see our other great Labs who are looking for their forever homes, happy tails, and more!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gus, a Boston Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Boston, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Boston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boston paves the way for another one to be saved.
