Facts about Mira

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Calico Or Dilute Calico
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
DOB December 2, 2011.

Mira is a delightful girl with a beautiful calico coat and watchful green eyes. She likes to spend her days quietly on the couch or under the bed, and is a very attentive Netflix viewer. She loves to watch movements on the screen. Mira loves to be petted all over, especially to have her head scratched. When she wants attention, you will hear her very squeaky meow and sometimes likes to lie in bed with her favourite person. Mira is a very calm, but playful lady that is looking forward to her new permanent home!

Mira tends to shed an awful lot and her favourite sleeping areas usually have to be brushed clean at least once a day. She is also quite easily startled, so probably shouldn't be around small children although it isn't known whether she has met any yet. When startled, sometimes she will hide for hours under the bed, but she will always come out eventually. She is a very sweet girl who can't wait to meet her forever family... will it be you?

About Our Rescue Group...

Toronto Cat Rescue is a registered, no-kill charity run by volunteers.

Our mission is to rescue and find homes for abandoned, sick or injured cats from situations of abuse, neglect or imminent euthanasia.

Our registered charity number: 889-198-727-RR-0001

Our Adoption Process...

Decided on the cat or kitten you would like to adopt? Please call 416-538-8592, or email

An adoption counsellor will return your call and give you more details about the cat you are interested in and ask some questions about your home to make sure the cat will be a "purr-fect" fit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have as well.

You will be supplied with the foster home address to have a meet and greet with your kitty. If both parties are happy, you can sign the TCR Contract of Adoption, pay the adoption fee and take your cat home with you in a safe carrying case.

Adoption fee is $175 per cat. This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. It includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

1. ALL senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopters choice, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.

2. Our adoption fee for a bonded pair is $100 per cat, vs. $175 per cat.
