Strawberry's Story...
Ever heard that an apple a day keeps the doctor away? Well, how about a Strawberry a day keeps the loneliness away! A wonderful girl like me can bring you all the sweet companionship you need. I’m the type of girl who’s eager to learn and eager to please—keep my body and my mind busy and you’ll have one heck of a best friend! I can be a bit unsure of new situations, and being a bit of a puppy still I get mouthy when excited, so I ask that children in my family be 8+ and respectful. I enjoy a good cat chase and love to romp and play with other dogs too. I am crate trained already even! Sure I am only 12 months old, so I could really use some basic training but I promise it will be well worth it! Just come on in and let me cure you of that loneliness! 1 year old-33lbs. My adoption fee is $220 and includes microchip & registration, spay, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Strawberry, a Portland Australian Cattle Dog/Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Basenji for sale in Portland, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Basenji dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Basenji breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
