Zipurr (estimated dob 5/7/16) - Boy, have I come a long way since I was rescued from a parking lot. I was a really scared when I was first caught but I was quick to want to trust and once I did, I was so glad! I purr all of the time now and just love attention. My foster family says I have the sweetest meow. I have a cute little zipper mark down my back so since I love to purr and I have a zipper down my back, well, that's how I got my name....pretty cute, huh? I love to run around with lots of kitties and play with my siblings, Crisper and Bissell, I also play with all of the other kitties in the house. I'm pretty ok with the big, mellow dog, but only tolerate the small chihuahua dog in the house. But who knows, maybe I'll come to love him like my brother Crisper does. They lay together all of the time. I like to chase after the balls with the bells inside. I really like crinkly balls too. I eat wet food in the morning as a treat (would also be a great bonding tool if you take me home hint hint). I may be shy at first but with lots of all over scratching and lots of love, I will really come out of my shell. A playmate would really be awesome too. I love my humans and my kitty mates. I'm just a really sweet boy.

Adoption events are held at the Fair Oaks Petco (Madison at Hazel) on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zipurr, a North Highlands Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in North Highlands, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in North Highlands.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in North Highlands already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a North Highlands breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in North Highlands paves the way for another one to be saved.
