This gorgeous girl could be the apple of anyone's eye! Apple is a 6 month old baby girl who's healthy, happy and full of life --- everything an Eskie should be! She was bought as a purebred American Eskimo Dog when she was a little cottonball-of-a-puppy by someone who had no idea what raising a puppy entailed, so she was given up and now we're looking for someone who fully understands that puppies are a lot of work and that they're for keeps! Apple is currently being fostered in a home with a baby and a couple of small dogs, all of whom she is so grateful to have as playmates. She's terrific with the baby, doing silly antics that make him laugh like crazy, almost as though she is getting as much fun out of making him laugh!! But she does show some herding behaviors that could pose a problem with very active young kids who run around a lot because she already sometimes playfully nips at her foster parents' calves when they're walking around - a behavior they're working on correcting. She loves the closeness of people, climbing into the nearest lap like a cat and curling up for a nap. She's learning to play fetch and loves it. She loves being outdoors, running around, and digging holes in the dirt. She is very playful and loves her toys, even if no one is available to play with her.

Apple is submissive upon first meeting, no doubt due to her lack of stability in these first few months of her life. Being approached from above makes her nervous and she retreats to her crate for security. But if you squat and call her name, she runs right up to you -- down deep, she really wants to be friendly right from the start. Because of that, Apple will do best in a dog experienced home (an Eskie-experienced home even better) where patience, nurturing and training will help her gain confidence to meet the world head-on.

Apple is a purebred American Eskimo Dog, she's about 6 months old, weighs about 15 pounds and will be on the smaller side of medium fully grown. Eskies are delightful companions but do need care for those gorgeous white coats with regular brushing at home and regular visits to the groomer -- a small price to pay for the company of a playful, affectionate, loyal, frisky, smart companion. If this little girl is the Apple of your eye, please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process or click here for our online application. Full vetting, microchip and spay included in her $450 adoption fee. Transport fee is additional $150. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE
