Shelby is a young, beautiful Korean Jindo mix who was adopted from a shelter about a year ago. Shelby didn't have the best start in life. . . she and her two brothers were found in a dumpster and brought to the shelter by a neighbor who heard them yelping. As you can imagine, these puppies were scared of people at the beginning, but Shelby has come a long way.
She is a sweet, playful dog with lots of energy who loves hikes, car rides, playing fetch, being with her people and playing with dogs. She would enjoy a home with another dog as she just loves to play and thrives on exercise.
Shelby is a loving, gentle girl who has so much potential and would be a wonderful companion for the right person. Outside her home on walks and at the park, Shelby is typically friendly with people, and she absolutely loves other dogs. However, inside her home, she's still wary of strangers and loud noises - she will bark at them and has trouble settling down. Shelby is best suited for a calm environment with a loving, patient owner who will ease her into new situations and help her confidence grow.
Shelby completely housebroken, sleeps well in a crate (although she'd prefer cuddling next to her human in bed) and has never been destructive or aggressive. She loves her walks and has great leash manners. She's gentle with young children and cats and does not guard food or toys.
