Daisy's Story...
Who can resist the soulful eyes and droopy ears of this Basset Hound mix?!?!  Daisy is around 6 years old and weighs 44 pounds.  Daisy is a social gal who enjoys the company of other dogs.  Her low/medium energy level doesn’t always allow her to keep up with the big boys when out running, but she doesn’t seem to mind.  Her preference is to get cuddles, ear rubs and plenty of loving from her human companions.  She gets along well with other dogs.  We recommend, however, a home without any cats as she likes to give chase.  Daisy has made her way into foster care in Vancouver, BC after being rescued by our sister organization in Mexico where she was spayed, dewormed and fully vaccinated.  If you are looking for an easy going playmate, contact us at info.pvca@gmail.com for an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daisy, a Victoria Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Victoria, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Victoria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Victoria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Victoria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Victoria paves the way for another one to be saved.
