GUS's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

GUS's Story...
He is beautiful, intelligent, loving and playful. Gus is a stunning 1-1/2 year old, 70 pound, Chocolate Labrador Retriever goofball who just wants to be around people, Gus is a very gentle and calm in his demeanor. Gus is a wonderful dog, he is great with people, if you want a doggie that it is safe with children, Gus is the one. Gus get along with all well behaved dogs, but cats are out of the question.

Gus was brought to the kennel after being with a foster because he has separation anxiety issues when left alone. Clearly, this special guy needs to find just the right fosters or adopters that have experience with a doggie with separation anxiety and want to take the time help him learn it is safe to be alone.

Gus will coward hearing loud voices and seeing objects like brooms, sticks and the like, which makes us think someone tried to deal with his anxiety issues by screaming at him or attempting to correct his behavior with rough treatment. Moving on from a terrible ordeal can be one of the hardest things in the world, and sometimes all we need to get through it is someone who truly understands.

Gus was recently adopted by a family with 3 children under the age of 8 and a 5 year old female dog, he did great in every respect, displaying only minor anxiety separation behavior issues, the family loved him and believed they had found the perfect dog, but there were two cats in the household and Gus killed one of them. With tears on their eyes they had to return Gus to us.

Come met him, you will fall in love. With a lot of patience, understanding and loving care, Gus will claim the mature confidence of a well-rounded doggie.Gus is fully vaccinated, he is heartworm negative, neutered and microchipped.

If you are an experienced foster or adopter and would like to foster him or maybe give her a Forever Home call or text Miguel at 817-798-8416, Lauren at 214-914-7368 or inquire at Family Pet Care at 817-451-7387

Why Adoption is a Great Option

GUS, a FORT WORTH Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in FORT WORTH, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in FORT WORTH.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in FORT WORTH already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a FORT WORTH breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in FORT WORTH paves the way for another one to be saved.
