Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ziggy is the cutest little 23-pound short-stack you will ever see. At the end of the day, she is the very definition of a cuddle bug. She will wrap herself around you and snore softly. And BONUS – she does not shed!! We’re not exactly sure what breeds this little girl is a mix of – maybe a bit of Basset Hound, a dash of Daschund, a portion of Pittie. Whatever it is, it’s all good!
Ziggy came out of the shelter with some trust issues and, as a result, may be slow to warm up to strangers; but, after you’ve given her a chance to check you out, she is a doll. She loves being around her people – especially the one person she picks out as her best buddy. Then, you’ll see a little low-rider who will follow you everywhere.
Ziggy is completely housebroken and willingly goes into her crate at night – as long as she is in the same room as her peeps. She gets along beautifully with her foster Mom’s two dogs and loves to play – running around the yard, tossing sticks in the air and catching them. She is very athletic and can jump sky high when chasing a Frisbee. She walks extremely well on leash if you offer her leadership. She continues to work on her training to stay calm and balanced when encountering unfamiliar dogs. Oh, and she loves to ride shotgun in the car with you.
Ziggy is a delightful pup. However, because she needs time to warm up to people she will require an adopter who is an experienced dog owner and will show her patience and leadership – providing her with direction and guidance on how to trust people she is not familiar with. .Because she is wary of sudden movements toward her, she needs to be in a house with no small children.
Ziggy was born ~March 2015.
For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.youluckydogrescue.org and read our Adoption FAQ's and Before You Adopt documents. In addition you can complete an online adoption application from our website. You can also email info@youluckydogrescue.org for additional details.
Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue. We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
