MOCHA's Story...
Hi my name is Mocha and I am a 1 1/2 year old Retriever mix who is looking for my fur-ever home. I am one happy and lucky girl thanks to Paws 4 Humanity Inc. I was surrendered to Paws 4 Humanity Inc as I was found as I wandered into the garage of my good Samaritan family who could not keep me. A phone call was made to Paws 4 Humanity Inc and the rest is history, as Paws 4 Humanity Inc took me into the rescue.

Paws 4 Humanity Inc thought they found me my fur-ever family back in March 2016 only to find out that the family who adopted me did not take good care of me, had me tethered outside in the heat, and then dumped me in the Clay County ACPS shelter, without contacting Paws 4 Humanity Inc to surrender me back into the rescue - one of the contractual obligations when adopting any Paws 4 Humanity Inc dog. When I arrived at the Clay County ACPS shelter one of the shelter volunteers had to cut my collar away from my neck as it was imbedded by me pulling on the tether. I also was left at the shelter 21 lbs under my adopted weight of 35 lbs. The friends of Clay County Animals, the advocacy group for the shelter, researched where I came from and contacted Paws 4 Humanity Inc, who sent one of their volunteers to rescue me immediately to take me back into the rescue. So here I am.

I have been back with Paws 4 Humanity Inc in my foster home and have regained my weight back (oh what a difference being fed good food makes), and am now the sweet and loving, happy go lucky girl that I was meant to be. I am very well mannered in the house and enjoy playing with children, other dogs and my humans. I am house trained, crated trained, and obedience trained and know sit, come when called, shake and lay down. I don't do well around cats and need to be in a home without them, as I tend to chase them with my prey drive.

If you are looking for one sweet and lovable four legged companion and family member I am your girl. What are you waiting for? Pick up the phone and contact Paws 4 Humanity Inc at 904 771-9516 or shoot them an email to paws4humanity@att.net to request an adoption application, which is the first step in the adoption process. Once your adoption application is approved you will then be able to meet the most yours truly, the most lovable and happy go lucky Chow mix, (they think I am mixed with retriever since I am so smart), on the planet who will steal your heart where you can not help but want to take me home fur-ever. Love and Kisses. - Mocha.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MOCHA, a Orange Park Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Orange Park, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Orange Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Orange Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Orange Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Orange Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
