Meet Carmen! She's a 5 year old Basset Hound X Bulldog (mid-sized, short & long, with a blocky head). She's an absolute love bug who loves her humans. Her previous family had 2 small children who she adored & slept with every night... so she sleeps in the bed with us too :) She loves dogs & is amazing with her new doggy siblings (3 big girls, 1 little boy). She does have a prey drive (she LOVES to chase squirrels), so we're separating from our cat. She's a dream on leash & will make a great running and/or hiking partner. She's potty trained, non-destructive, knows sit, responds well to positive reinforcement, and is an all around perfect dog.

Because she was surrendered to the shelter for protecting her home, we've introduced her to "strangers" outside of the home & allowed her to walk in with them. This works well for her & will need to be continued with her new owners.

If you're looking to add a new member to your family, or know someone who is, please consider Carmen. She's truly an amazing dog who aims to please and will make a perfect companion.

Carmen is located in Los Angeles, but can travel for the right home.

About Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from various Los Angeles shelters the day they are to be euthanized. Our goal is to help provide animals with a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs. Once rescued, we place our dogs into loving foster homes while they await adoption. We do not keep dogs in kennels. Placing the dogs in foster homes is the first step to rehabilitation, as it allows us to thoroughly evaluate a dog's demeanor and needs enabling us to make the perfect match of dog and permanent owner. We attribute our high rate of successful placement to our foster program. At Ace of Hearts, we do not discriminate against any breed, including those in the bully breed family. Additionally, Ace of Hearts is dedicated to educating the public on how to be responsible pet owners and on the importance of spaying and neutering. We believe the real solution to pet overpopulation is through spaying and neutering pets.
