Rusty's Story...
My name is Rusty and I am waiting anxiously for you to adopt me. I’m a young Collie Great Pyrenees mix of about nine months old. I was found wandering around on a very busy highway. Thankfully someone cared enough to pick me up. And the rest is history as they say. I’m kind of a big fuzzy teddy bear. I love to have someone pet me and I will lay my head in your lap so you can. But, since I am a young boy who really does like to play I will need an in-home dog buddy to play with. And some good kibble. I LOVE to eat! So what are you waiting for? You need to start filling out an application so you can meet me. Applications can be found at
Can’t wait to hear from you!

Rusty is a gorgeous dog. Just a youngster. And he was found going back and forth over a busy highway. We were notified of him and took him into rescue. He has beautiful golden eyes and great coloring. His pictures don’t do him justice. He is a big boy and loves attention. Where he came from he wasn’t probably getting much. He likes to lay his head in your lap or come and stand really close to you. He just wants to be near someone. But he is young and will need a playmate. Rusty is ready to go at any time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Houston Collie/Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie/Great Pyrenees for sale in Houston, or seeking a Collie/Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie/Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Collie/Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
