Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The incredible Joe Louis came to the Hazel Park shelter as a stray about a year ago, and was adopted, but now is being returned. His owners say he is an amazing dog, but they are returning him because he keeps escaping their yard and this has gotten them in trouble with their landlord.
His owner says:
Joe gets along with other dogs well. He does great with their 10 lb. elderly poodle. And he also is good with their 6 year old. He has not been around cats, so we are unsure of how he would be with a cat. He shows no signs of aggression. He knows basic commands but he won't listen unless he is being rewarded. He is crate trained and potty trained. The only bad thing they have to say is that he is an escape artist. He will get out of his collar, off his chain, out of doggie gates, over and under the fence.... Anything to go exploring and meet new people. Other than that, he really is a great dog all around.
So, you will want to meet this very friendly guy! He gets along great with adults and children alike. Joe Louis walks well on a leash, but more training is a great way to get to know your new best friend!
If you would like to set up a meet and greet, please complete our online adoption evaluation form and ask for this pet by name! You'll be glad you did!
