Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey there! My name is Batman because I'm a mostly Black Lab/ German Shepherd mix young fella who has a white batman-logo locket around my neck. I'm a happy 35-pound guy who loves to play and who is eager to please. I was born about September 2015, but no one is certain of my age because I was found wandering the streets of southwest Houston.
I'd say that the lady who found me was a Good Samaritan except that she almost took me to a kill-shelter. Ugh! Fortunately, Buster's Friends stepped in and agreed to place me in their foster-care program. Whew! We all know what happens when mostly black dogs end up at a shelter!
Well, I'm is a happy-go-lucky older puppy who hasn't let my less-than-perfect early life get me down. You see, I limp or hop on my left front leg, and the vet confirmed that this is because of an old injury that just didn't heal correctly. But I don't let that slow me down. No siree.
I love people and am good with big and small dogs as well as adult cats. True confessions -- I get my kicks by chasing the kittens in my foster home because they run from me. Just because I chase after them doesn't mean that I would hurt them. Naw, I wouldn't do that, and I'm getting the picture when my foster mom tells me 'NO.'
I'm smart about a lot of things I'm learning now that someone is taking the time to train me. I have already learned the command to go into my kennel, so my foster mom knows that I will learn other commands easily.
If you are looking for a special young dog with loads of personality to add to your family, then I'm your guy. I'm looking for a kind and sympathetic person who can overlook my slight imperfection and want to adopt me despite my gimpy front leg. You will be my hero if you do. I promise to repay you with a lifetime of love and loyalty.
Won't you come meet me? I'll leave your face wet with puppy kisses!
Batman is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. His adoption fee is $150, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Batman, and we can arrange for you to meet him.
