Zooey was brought to the Hayward Shelter as a stray. Initially, she was too frightened be handled by the shelter staff. She had trouble passing the temperament testing in order to move to the adoption ward. The shelter asked us to consider pulling her into foster care. We met with her and determined that she just needed to be in a home, and everything would be fine. We were not wrong, she blossomed right away.
She is a very young, playful, sweet little dog who loves and craves attention. She does well with other dogs. She is still a little bit nervous about being picked up, but that is getting better every day.
She would be okay with older kids, who could be aware of her skittishness.
She has no health issues.
