NAME: Niyah

AGE: About 7 years
WEIGHT: About 10 Pounds (needs to lose about 2 - 3 pounds)
DOGS/CATS: Great with other small dogs, Unsure with cats
CHILDREN: Should be fine with children

Niyah came to CRT recently with her sister, Khloe. They were surrendered to CRT due to some pretty severe life changing circumstances for the couple that loved them to the moon and back! It was a story we just felt we had to help these girls and the family that was forced to let go. These girls are not bonded but they really do well together. It would really be nice if they could get adopted together but it is not a requirement.

They are both 7 yrs old. Khloe weighs approx 8 pounds and Niyah weighs approx 10 pounds. Both are a little overweight so we are working on getting their girlish figures back.

They have only been in foster care for two weeks so are still trying to figure out why their world has been turned upside down. But from what has been gleaned thru their personalities so far is that they could write a book on how to be super sweet, quiet and absolutely no trouble at all. They have not barked once, they have not had an accident since the first couple of days with their adjustment to a new place, and they are getting along with every dog in their foster home, big and small. I think they would be fine with cats as they have not exhibited any tendencies toward chasing squirrels. Their favorite past time so far has been to be on the couch or a dog bed and just chill.

For anyone who is looking for a wonderful companion or two, please consider these girls.

About Chihuahua Rescue & Transport, Inc. - Dallas Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

CRT does not warehouse dogs in a shelter. As in most rescue groups, our dogs are cared for in healthy, safe, loving foster home environments. CRT foster parents work very hard to be sure that their foster dog feels safe and loved while working on housetraining, crate training, socialization, etc. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped, on heartworm preventative and have all other veterinary needs taken care of (such as heartworm treatment, dentals, luxating patellas, etc.) CRT is known, and has always been known, for taking the injured, infirm and elderly Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. Please consider the adoption of one of these dogs as well. Seniors and special needs dogs make great pets too!

Come Meet Our Pets...

CRT holds various opportunities to meet the dogs looking for homes in our group. These locations, times, and places are listed on our website:

Our Adoption Process...

CRT accepts applications, checks references and requires a home visit. An adoption donation is requested. CRT does not have a shelter and all dogs are fostered in the private homes of our volunteers. Once an application is submitted the foster of the dog inquired about will contact the potential adopter to answer any questions about the dog.
