Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gender: Male
Color: Black & White
Weight: 45 lbs
Variety: Bench
Gus is a sweet young Springer with soft fur, intelligent eyes, and the desire to check everything out. He is mostly just very curious about things. He has settled into his foster home remarkably well in the first several days, and he is slowly winning over the resident Springers. While Gus needs his exercise and play, he would do quite well with a runner or brisk walker, as his pace is easy.
This happy, healthy guy likes to run, to chase balls, and to drop them ten feet away from you. He likes to hang out and be near you, but he shows some independence as well. Gus sleeps in a crate at his foster home, and while he does not love it, he does tolerate it. We think that he would like to be sleeping with his humans, and because he is a smaller Springer, he might not be a bed hog.
Gus is working on his manners and is beginning to learn not to jump up to check out counters, desks, and more. He is clearly smart enough to understand his training--he just needs consistency and follow-through. He will bark a bit at new people because he is not sure of their place in his pack. However, once he figures that out, he settles down nicely.
Our handsome boy has a very nice personality, and he really wants to hang out with his people. If you are looking for a wonderful Springer pup, and if you can give Gus the attention he craves and the space he needs to run, don't wait too long to contact his case managers!
Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.
Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Gus.
