Maddie's Story...
Mad-Cat, as her foster dad calls her, is a ton of fun! This gal loves to be perched up high, exploring cavernous (to her, anyway) laundry baskets and batting at literally anything that crinkles. We laughed out loud when her foster told us that, when she is picked up and held, she is "fiercely independent and considers it an indignity beneath her status as queen of the universe." However, while Ms. Mad-Cat does not get into snuggly cuddles or palling around with other felines, she DOES like head scratches and belly rubs, as well as loving attention to her long and gorgeous coat, which she is very proud of. So, if you've been looking for one hysterically fun and funny friend, come meet Maddie today! Maddie was born in 2008.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maddie, a Chicago Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
