Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cassie is just finishing her mommy duties and is ready to find a home where she is well cared for--just like she cared for her babies. She is a loyal, obedient, and happy dog! She likes to run laps around the yard and would fit in well with an active family. Cassie is being fostered with 2 young children as well as other dogs (other than her pups); she does great with both!! She is a loving dog who enjoys laying on your lap but also doesn’t mind being on her own. Even though she was under weight while raising her puppies, she never showed aggression when they took her food. Even when hungry, she’ll let us put our hand in her food dish. She really is the most loving and loyal girl!
Cassie currently spends the night in her kennel and is in her kennel when her foster parents aren’t home (a few hours a day). She’s doing very well at potty training and knows to do her business when let outside. She will go to the door when she needs to go potty. As long as you take her out regularly, she doesn’t have accidents. Cassie is about 1 year old and weighs about 25 lbs. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed.
All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
We also have an Adoptable Dog Meet & Greet on Saturday September 17, 2016, at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150, Minneapolis, MN 55413, from noon - 2 pm. Occasionally dogs cannot make it to the Meet & Greet, therefore feel free to verify if your dog of interest is able to attend. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
