Lua's Story...
Adoption Pending. LUA is a beautiful chocolate Lab mix who was abandoned when her previous family moved away and left her behind in NW TN. Thankfully, concerned neighbors fed her and notified rescue people in the area who stepped up to help. She is now in a foster home and has been fully vetted, vaccinated and spayed. She tested negative for heartworm. She is estimated to be 1 1/2 years old and weighs 57 pounds. Her foster reports that she knows basic commands, is medium to laid back energy, crate trained and working on house training. She seems to get along fine with other dogs. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Lua if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help to cover the cost of the veterinary care she has received.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lua, a Union City Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Union City, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Union City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Union City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Union City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Union City paves the way for another one to be saved.
