Beaker's Story...
Beaker is a 4 lb lanky, 6-7 yr old chihuahua, or as we lovingly call him a Mexican jumping bean! He was pretty impossible to get his picture taken as he is constantly on the move, so we apologize for the photo quality. Beaker was in very poor condition when he came to us- basically hairless with few teeth and a deteriorating jaw. With proper vet care and good nutrition he is now on the road to recovery. He is the happiest, most friendly little guy who has never met a stranger. He gets along great with other dogs and wouldn't mind going to a home with a friend or two- as long as they are gentle with him. Due to his bottom jaw issue he is on a diet of canned food, which he does not object to! He is very food motivated, he does great with his housetraining, and he is not a big barker. Beaker's adoption donation is $250, which helps pay for the cost of his medical care.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the "Adoption Process" tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested ( as appropriate), fecal tested, and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Beaker, a Romeoville Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Romeoville, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Romeoville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Romeoville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Romeoville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Romeoville paves the way for another one to be saved.
