Halo's Story...
Halo got to spend last weekend with her volunteer that she absolutely loves before she went back to school . This is what she had to say about her :
"Halo is an amazing dog. She is house trained and crate trained. She knows her basic commands, but would benefit from a refreshment course. Halo is slightly possessive of food and toys, but not in an aggressive manner. She walks well on a leash and loves to play fetch. Halo loves to cuddle and be around people. She can be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up she is a perfect companion."
Halo is a 1 year old husky mix that was surrendered to the shelter because her owner could no longer care for her . She had a really hard time adjusting to shelter life as she was super scared and confused as to why she was left in this noisy place. Halo is very shy at first but , if given the chance she warms up and is such a great dog. Halo is spayed , heartworm negative, microchipped, current on her annual vaccines, and weighs approximately 55 lbs . For more information about Halo please call the shelter at 985-783-5010 or stop by 921 Rue La Cannes in Luling. You can also fill out an application online at…/adoption-volunteering-a… . Thank you Kylie so much for fostering this sweet girl so we can get to know her better !

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Halo, a Luling Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky for sale in Luling, or seeking a Husky dog from a breeder in Luling.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Luling already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Luling breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky breeders who help with Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Luling paves the way for another one to be saved.
